Arsenal are said to be "confident" that midfielder Jack Wilshere will sign a new deal and remain at the club.
The 26-year-old has been involved in a lengthy contract standoff with his employers, leading to reports that Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, among other teams, are ready to offer him an escape route from the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Mirror, however, the Gunners have offered Wilshere an improved deal and are hopeful that he will sign it.
Reports suggest that the original contract offer would have forced the player to take a pay cut from £110,000 a week to £90,000 a week, with pay-as-you-play incentives to make up the deficit.
Wilshere, who recently recovered from recurrent injury problems, is out of contract at the Emirates this summer.
