Arsenal are leading the race to sign Nice and Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to reports.

Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

The 26-year-old scored seven goals and registered nine assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances as the Eaglets finished third in the French top flight.

According to L'Equipe, the Gunners are showing serious interest in Seri and have moved to the front of the queue to sign him after Roma refused to meet a release clause of around £36m.

Barcelona have also been linked with an interest in the Ivory Coast international, who has two years remaining on his current contract.

Seri joined Nice in 2015 and has missed just four league games in his two seasons at the club.
