Arsenal learn that they can can sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl for £27m this summer, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly been told that they can sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl for £27m this summer.

Weigl, who joined BVB from 1860 Munich in 2015, has scored three times in 151 appearances for his German club.

The five-time Germany international was restricted to just 25 appearances in all competitions last season, though, having struggled to earn a regular starting role.

According to Sport Bild, Dortmund have made it clear that £27m would be enough to convince them to sell the 23-year-old this summer and Arsenal are considering a move alongside Paris Saint-Germain.

Weigl, who can play in midfield or as a central defender, will see his contract at Signal Iduna Park expire in 2021.

Arsenal are facing a difficult task when it comes to improving their squad this summer, with various reports claiming that their starting budget - without player sales - is only between £40m and £45m.
