Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly set to be sent on loan in the upcoming transfer window if the club is unable to find a suitable buyer for him.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is set to be sent on loan this summer if the club is unable to find a suitable buyer, according to a report.

The Gunners are believed to be keen to part ways with the 26-year-old shot-stopper, who has fallen in the pecking order since the arrival of David Raya at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsdale made just six Premier League appearances throughout the 2023-24 campaign after featuring in every league match for the side in the previous season.

Newcastle United have been heavily linked with a move for the England international, but Eddie Howe's team are unwilling to meet the Gunners' valuation for the 26-year-old.

Arsenal willing to consider Ramsdale loan exit this summer

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are committed to moving Ramsdale on this summer and are open to the option of a season-long loan deal if there are no takers for a permanent transfer.

Ramsdale still has three years remaining on the contract he signed just over 12 months ago.

The 26-year-old was signed by Mikel Arteta for £30m back in 2021 from Sheffield United and kept 14 clean sheets in the 2022-23 Premier League season for the Gunners.

It is understood that the club are looking to recoup as much of their investment as possible and are willing to listen to offers in the region of what they paid for the player.

The report adds Arsenal are aiming to raise additional funds for new acquisitions by selling existing players who were on the periphery of Arteta's squad last season.

Among those who could join Ramsdale in departing the Emirates this summer are attackers Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson.

Gunners look to raise funds for new acquisitions through existing player sales

Nketiah, who signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal in 2022 has largely failed to establish himself as a first-team regular and it is understood that he is looking for a move away in search of regular playing time.

Meanwhile, Smith Rowe and Nelson, who penned a new deal just 12 months ago, spent the majority of the last campaign on the bench, and are believed to be considered surplus to requirements.

After coming up agonisingly short of the Premier League title for a second season in a row, the Gunners are expected to be busy this summer as they look to bolster their squad for next term.

Recent reports suggest the club have prioritised the signing of a new centre-forward, with RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko emerging as one of the leading candidates.

Arsenal's current attacking duo of Gabriel Jesus and Nketiah managed just nine goals between them in the 2023-24 season.

Additionally, the Gunners are said to be on the hunt for a central midfielder to partner Declan Rice and a left-back to provide competition for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
