Arsenal are reportedly dealt a blow in their efforts to sign Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca, who has also been linked with Inter Milan.

Arsenal are reportedly only regarded as outsiders to sign Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca during the summer transfer window.

Having failed to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, the Gunners will sign at least one new frontman ahead of 2022-23.

While a number of different players have been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium, Scamacca is another option after putting himself in line to move to a bigger club.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 23-year-old is more likely to sign for Inter Milan than the Premier League giants.

The report claims that the relevant parties have already met on more than one occasion with Scamacca preferring to remain in Serie A.

Scamacca, who has a contract at Sassuolo until 2025, has netted nine times in 23 league appearances this season.
