Mohamed Elneny could reportedly be on his way to Ligue 1, with Bordeaux interested in signing the out-of-favour Egyptian from Arsenal.

Bordeaux are reportedly interested in signing out of favour Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny before the end of the European transfer window.

The 27-year-old has started just five Premier League matches under Unai Emery and has failed to make the matchday squad this season, despite not being injured.

According to Foot Mercato, Bordeaux are chasing a new midfielder and have been after Monaco man Youssef Ait-Bennasser, but that move has become complex and the Ligue 1 side have now made Elneny their primary target.

Bordeaux finished a disappointing 14th in the French top flight in the 2018-19 season, but picked up a valuable 2-0 victory at Dijon on Saturday.

Elneny, meanwhile, could only watch on as Arsenal fell to their first defeat of the season at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
