John Hartson: 'Aaron Ramsey will be top transfer target for a number of clubs'

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be a transfer target for a number of top clubs in the summer, says former Gunners striker John Hartson.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is likely to be a transfer target for a number of clubs in the summer, according to former Gunners striker John Hartson.

Ramsey enjoyed a successful season at the Emirates this campaign, despite having picked up a thigh injury over the Christmas period, with the playmaker managing to score 13 goals in 27 games.

"Aaron Ramsey will be linked to 10 clubs in the summer," Hartson said, according to BBC Sport.

"But I can't see him leaving Arsenal in the foreseeable future. He's settled and loves the club. Aaron's done terrifically well. He's shown great mental strength.

"Let's not forget 18 months ago at Arsenal he was facing a bit of a backlash from the home fans. They were thinking, 'he's not really stepped up his performances. But he's found something. He's gone up a gear and he's so influential to Arsenal now and the way they play."

Arsenal finished the 2013-14 season in fourth place in the Premier League table.
