Sami Khedira 'holding out for Arsenal move'

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira reportedly turns down a move to Turkey as he holds out hope of a deadline-day switch to Arsenal.

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has reportedly turned down offers from two Turkish clubs as he holds out hope of a deadline-day move to Arsenal.

The 32-year-old has been told that he can leave the serial Italian champions this summer having fallen down the pecking order, leading to links with the Gunners, who have been surprisingly active in the transfer market in recent weeks despite their limited budget.

According to Il BiancoNero, Khedira has received concrete offers from Besiktas and Fenerbahce but has rejected the sides as he is keen on a move to the Premier League at this stage of his career.

The Germany international's wages - around £106,000 a week - are thought to be a stumbling block in any move to the Emirates, however, with the London side only prepared to pay in the region of £70,000 a week.

With two years remaining on Khedira's current contract, Juve are also keen to secure a transfer fee as part of a deal, although reports in Italy have suggested that the player could try to cancel his contract and then sign for a new club as a free agent after the transfer window closes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been touted as an alternative destination for Khedira in the Premier League, although his wage demands make a late switch to Molineux unlikely.
