Andre Silva is to remain at AC Milan this month despite strong rumoured interest from elsewhere, according to the Italian club's sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli.

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has insisted that in-demand striker Andre Silva will remain at the club "for many years", amid links with a move to English football.

The Portugal international is understood to be on the radar of Arsenal and Everton, while ambitious Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers have also shown an interest.

Silva appears likely to remain at San Siro for the foreseeable future, however, as Mirabelli believes that ongoing talk surrounding the 22-year-old is nothing but speculation.

"I know that Andre Silva is going through a difficult time, but he is a very important player for us," he told O Jogo. "We have a special affection for him, he has a lot of talent and we want him to stay with us.

"Of course he's going to be [with us] in January and I'm sure he'll be with us for many, many years."

Silva has yet to get off the mark in 12 Serie A appearances for Milan this term, but he has six goals in six Europa League games since arriving from Porto for £35m.
