Garry Monk: 'I can help Wilfried Bony improve'

Swansea City boss Garry Monk is adamant that striker Wilfried Bony will be able to reach his full potential under his tutelage if he stays at the club.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk has insisted that striker Wilfried Bony can become a better player if he stays at the club under his guidance.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal this summer after an excellent debut season in the Premier League.

Monk is adamant that he can help the 25-year-old reach his full potential if he remains at the Liberty Stadium.

He told reporters: "I've said all along how important Wilfried is to us and what a good player he is. For me I can help him become an even better player this season.

"We saw a very good Wilfried last season but with the work ethic he has and what we're trying to do I think he can be even better this year.

"If he listens to what we're telling him - and he does, because he's a great guy and a great person to work with - you'll see a better Bony."

Bony scored 16 goals in the Premier League last season.
