Nacho Monreal: 'I have no regrets over Arsenal exit'

Real Sociedad defender Nacho Monreal says that he has no regrets over opting to leave Arsenal for the La Liga outfit last year.

Nacho Monreal has revealed that he has enjoyed his first season at Real Sociedad after opting to depart Arsenal last summer.

After a relatively-successful six-year period at the Emirates Stadium, Monreal took the opportunity to return to his homeland in August.

The defender has made 29 appearances in all competitions, helping Sociedad into contention for the Champions League, and the veteran has acknowledged that he has no regrets over leaving North London.

Speaking to El Pais, the left-back said: "It was a difficult decision because I loved the competition, I was in a good moment and I had the confidence of the coach and the club.

"I still had opportunities to play, but after many months, things are now going well at Real. We have a good team and I do not regret my decision."

Monreal won three FA Cups during his time at Arsenal, while also helping the Gunners to the 2019 Europa League final.
