Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer manager Arsene Wenger a new contract in an attempt to discourage Paris Saint-Germain from making a move for the Frenchman.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer manager Arsene Wenger a new contract in an attempt to stave off interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 winners are said to be close to the appointment of Laurent Blanc as coach at Parc des Princes, on a one-year deal.

However, the short contract has triggered speculation that the French side are looking to make a move for Wenger in the summer of 2014 and the Gunners are preparing a new deal for their manager, according to The Mirror.

Wenger has just 15 months left on his current deal, meaning that PSG would only have to part with a small fee if they were to lure him back to his homeland next summer.
