Report: Aston Villa join race to sign Serge Gnabry on loan

Aston Villa join the race to sign Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry on loan, according to reports.

Aston Villa have become the latest club to register an interest in signing Serge Gnabry on a season-long loan, according to reports.

Gnabry has slipped further down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to secure first-team football for the 19-year-old elsewhere.

According to The Mirror, Paul Lambert is hoping to persuade Wenger that Villa Park is the best place for Gnabry to continue his development this season.

However, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all rumoured to be battling it out to take the German away from North London on a temporary basis.
