Serie A outfit Lazio join race for Danny Welbeck?

Lazio could make an attempt to sign Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck on a free this summer, according to a report.

Lazio are reportedly considering a move for England forward Danny Welbeck, who will be available on a free transfer this summer when his contract with Arsenal expires.

Welbeck - tipped to make the bench for the Europa League final after returning from an ankle injury - will leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer at the end of June.

Everton have been strongly linked with a move for the 28-year-old but according to The Sun, Lazio are also interested in landing the versatile attacker ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Newcastle United and West Ham United are also said to be monitoring developments surrounding a player who has scored five times in 14 appearances for the Gunners this season.

Welbeck found the back of the net on 29 occasions in 142 appearances for Manchester United before arriving at Arsenal in the summer of 2014.
