Arsene Wenger 'not interested' in signing Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger plays down reports that he is interested in signing Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has played down reports that the club will try to sign Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals and made 11 assists in all competitions this season, which could end with the Foxes as Premier League champions as they have a five-point lead with four games left to play.

Earlier this year it was reported that the Gunners are planning a summer move for the winger, but Wenger has refuted the claims.

During Wednesday's press conference, when asked if the club were interested in Mahrez, Wenger told reporters: "No, even if it was I wouldn't talk about it this stage of the season."

Arsenal's £11m acquisition of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea was their only piece of transfer business last summer.
