Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he is "convinced" that winger Theo Walcott will stay at the club and sign a new contract.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that winger Theo Walcott "belongs" at the Emirates and is confident that the England international will sign a new contract.

The 23-year-old has been in negotiations with the club over a new deal for the best part of this season but a conclusion has not yet been reached.

"My gut feeling is that he belongs to this club and that I hope he will do it and sign for us," Wenger said in a press conference. "I always am convinced that he will stay."

If Walcott opts to leave the North London club, he can begin discussing a transfer with clubs in next month's window.
