Arsene Wenger: Theo Walcott has a "great future"

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that Theo Walcott has a "great future" ahead of him and that he wants to keep the winger at the club.

Arsene Wenger has said that Theo Walcott has a "great future" ahead of him amid speculation that he could be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.

The winger has struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup since returning from a knee ligament injury in January, leading to speculation that Liverpool could be preparing to sign him in the summer.

However, the manager said at a press conference ahead of this weekend's FA Cup semi-final: "I believe he will have a great future and I want him to stay here. Walcott is getting better every week and will have a great goalscoring record in the future."

It has been reported that the Gunners are ready to open contract talks with Walcott to keep him at the Emirates.
