West Ham United have reportedly entered negotiations with Lille to sign Canadian forward Jonathan David in January.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed another impressive spell in front of goal this campaign, scoring 15 times in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Even though David Moyes is set to prioritise the signing of a central defender in the winter window, the Hammers are also looking to bolster their attacking options to provide more competition for Michail Antonio.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, via Fichajes, Moyes has requested for West Ham to sign David in January and the Hammers hierarchy are prepared to grant the Scotsman his wish as they have now begun talks with the Ligue 1 outfit.
The report adds that Lille have placed a €50m (£42.4m) price-tag on the forward, who still has four-and-a-half years left on his contract.
David, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, has scored 28 goals in 74 appearances for Lille, as well as 18 strikes in 24 international games for Canada.
