Preview: As Monaco vs. Evian TG

Sports Mole previews the Ligue 1 clash between AS Monaco and Evian TG at the Stade Louis II.

AS Monaco will look to get their Ligue 1 campaign back on track when they play host to Evian TG at the Stade Louis II on Saturday.

Leonardo Jardim's charges made a slow start to the season, picking up just one win from their first five league games to leave them playing catch-up from the off.

Three successive victories in September gave the club some respite, although since their 1-0 away win at Montpelier, Les Rouges et Blancs have failed to win in three games.

That said, a dramatic Anthony Martial strike in the dying seconds at the Parc des Princes last time out rescued Monaco a vital, morale-boosting point at the home of the Champions.

If last term's second-placed side in Ligue 1 are to build on that respectable 1-1 draw, then they must overcome an Evian outfit in the midst of a rich vein of form.

The two-week international break came at the wrong time for Les Roses, who have picked up nine points from nine in their last three outings.

Evian made an equally slow start to the season, picking up just one point from their opening six games, although impressive wins against Lens, Lorient and Metz has seen Pascal Dupraz's men climb away from danger up to 15th place in the table.

Add to this recent run of resurgence the two clean sheets on the bounce for the visitors, and it could be another tricky afternoon for an underperforming Monaco side in front of their supporters.
