Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers could restore Joe Allen to his starting lineup when the Welsh side host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers could restore Joe Allen to his starting lineup for Sunday's clash with Aston Villa.

The Welsh international was left on the bench for last weekend's clash with Manchester United but his cameo appearance impressed Rodgers.

Rodgers also confirmed that Steven Caulker has returned to training following his recent knee injury but he is unlikely to be risked.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa welcome back Jermaine Jenas but Stiliyan Petrov (hamstring) and Chris Herd (leg) are unlikely to be available.

Swansea could move above Aston Villa and into the top half of the table with victory on Sunday.
