Steve Bruce 'ready to walk out of Aston Villa as club nears administration'

Steve Bruce is reportedly ready to leave Aston Villa following concerns over the club's financial situation and potential administration.

Steve Bruce is reportedly prepared to walk out of Aston Villa following concerns that the club could go into administration.

Villa failed to achieve promotion to the Premier League last season after losing to Fulham in the playoff final, and missing out on the £200m prize money could see chairman Tony Xia sell key players to protect the future of the club.

Veteran John Terry has already left, Jack Grealish and James Chester have been linked with moves away, and loan deals have expired for Sam Johnstone, Robert Snodgrass and Lewis Grabban.

The Daily Star claims that Bruce may decide to pack his own bags at the Championship side and miss out on a £1.5m pay off from Xia.

Bruce has been in charge of Villa for two seasons, finishing 13th in his first campaign.
