Jordan Veretout hoping to develop at Aston Villa

Jordan Veretout reveals that he is looking forward to developing as a player at Aston Villa following his move from Nantes.

Jordan Veretout has revealed that he hopes to develop as a player at Aston Villa after joining the club from Nantes.

The French midfielder, 22, signed a five-year deal at Villa Park on Friday for an undisclosed fee.

Veretout now hopes to improve his skills under the management of Tim Sherwood.

"I want to develop here at Aston Villa," he told the club's official website. "I feel I am a player with big activity - I like to be heavily involved in things. I like to be creative - making goals for my teammates. That pleases me a lot, but also I love scoring goals myself.

"It's an exciting time for the football club and I am delighted to be part of it. I am proud to be involved in this new start. The coach has put a lot of belief in me by buying me for this huge club. I hope to deliver for him now on the pitch and repay that faith."

Villa start the new Premier League campaign on August 8 with a trip to Bournemouth.
