Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has brought in Ray Wilkins as his assistant manager.
Wilkins, 58, has never worked with Sherwood before but he has been assistant head coach at Millwall, Chelsea, Fulham and England Under 21s.
"Tim is similar to me in that he wants to win and is pretty bubbly," the former England international told Sky Sports. "As soon as I spoke to him it seemed to click.
"I've been fortunate over my career to be involved with lots of managers of a very high level. Hopefully, I can give the lads at Villa that experience.
"Tim has just now confirmed that I'll be going on board. I'm absolutely thrilled to be back involved. There's only one place to be - the Premier League is the place to go in."
Wilkins' most recent job was as head coach for the Jordanese national team but he left after failing to qualify from the group stages of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
