Aston Villa have confirmed that Brett Holman has agreed to join them on a free transfer in the summer.
The Australian international, who has won 53 caps for his country, currently plies his trade for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.
Villa manager Alex McLeish believes that his squad will benefit from Holman's experience in European competitions.
"Brett is a very intelligent player, a great team player and a man who is recognised in the game as a non-stop, committed wide midfield player," McLeish told the club's official website.
"He has international experience and he has played in the Champions League and at European level for the past few years. He will add significantly to the experience in the Villa squad."
The 27-year-old winger joined AZ in 2008 from NEC Nijmegen.
