Ashley Cole could reportedly be offered a route out of Roma by Aston Villa during the January transfer window.
The former England international has made just 16 appearances for the Serie A outfit following his move to Italy in the summer of 2014.
As a result, recent speculation has claimed that the 34-year-old will be allowed to leave the Stadio Olimpico on a free transfer.
According to the Daily Star, that has alerted Villa boss Remi Garde, who is in the market for a new left-back following confirmation that Jordan Amavi will be sidelined for a number of months with a knee injury.
Cole was also recently linked with a switch to Manchester United.
