Report: Derby County ready to launch Marc Albrighton loan bid

Aston Villa are reportedly ready to let Marc Albrighton go out on loan, with Derby County thought to be leading the race to secure his services.

Derby County are reportedly leading the chase to land Aston Villa midfielder Marc Albrighton on loan.

The 23-year-old has found first-team chances under Paul Lambert hard to come by and The Mirror believes that the Scot is ready to let him leave Villa Park.

Rams boss Nigel Clough has seen his midfield options dwindle due to injuries to Jeff Hendrick and Will Hughes, forcing him to seek short-term options.

Albrighton - a former England Under-21 international - made his debut for the Villans against CSKA Moscow in the Europa League in 2009, but did not fully break into the first team until 2010.

However, he made just 11 appearances in all competitions last season, with only five of them being starts.
