Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has been handed a summer transfer budget of just £10m, according to a report.
Villa owner Randy Lerner has decided to cut his side's spending ahead of the 2014-15 season and has put a limit on the resources available to the Scot to bring in new players.
Lambert had reportedly eyed deals for Joleon Lescott and Javier Hernandez but both players were out of his price range, while he was forced to settle for cut-price deals for Joe Cole and Philippe Senderos.
The 44-year-old now has just £10m to spend on transfer fees and wages to help strengthen his side, who finished 15th in the Premier League last season, reports The People.
Lambert is entering his third season at Villa Park after taking over from Alex McLeish in 2012.
