Juanfran hoping for successful end

Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran hopes for a successful end to the season.

Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran is hopeful that the capital outfit can make history in the latter stages of the season.

Diego Simeone's side currently sit top of La Liga with nine games remaining, while they will face Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Juanfran, who has been ever-present for Atletico this season, has also claimed that the players are "very proud" of their performances this season.

"We're very proud of the work we're doing this season," Juanfran told the club's official website.

"Right now we're leaders in La Liga, but it's only virtual at the moment, but it's something that makes us happy, because we know we're depending on ourselves and hopefully, we can carry on along the same lines until the end of the season.

"I'm sure that our fans remain very proud of their Atletico Madrid."

Atletico face Granada in La Liga this evening.
