Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has said that "it's normal" that Jackson Martinez is taking time to settle in his new surroundings at the Vicente Calderon.
The Colombian joined Atletico in a big-money move from Porto in the summer, but has only scored once for his new club this season.
Simeone, however, is confident that the striker will eventually follow in the footsteps of both Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao, the latter of whom also joined Atletico from Porto.
"It's normal [that Martinez hasn't settled in yet]. He [and Atleti's other new signings] arrived two months ago. It's not the same as Costa and Falcao," AS quotes Simeone as saying.
"David Villa was already playing in Spain. When it comes to another competition players need time to adapt. We got goals from Falcao, Villa, Adrian and Fernando Torres, and Jackson will score too."
Atletico are in Champions League action at home to Benfica on Wednesday evening.
