Preview: Atletico Madrid vs. Levante

Sports Mole previews the La Liga match between Spanish champions Atletico Madrid and struggling Levante.

Atletico Madrid will be hoping to close the gap to league leaders Real Madrid when they return to action against Levante after the La Liga winter break this weekend.

The Spanish champions have won four of their last five outings in the league, leaving them third in the table, just four points behind their city rivals, who have played a game fewer.

Striker Fernando Torres could make his second debut for the side after AC Milan agreed a deal with Chelsea to buy the forward and loan him to his former club.

Koke and Mario Mandzukic will both be available again, having missed the last match before Christmas through suspension, while Cristian Ansaldi is back in training following time out with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, a win for Levante will pull them away from the relegation zone, with just two points keeping them out of the bottom three over Christmas.

The visitors' only injury concern is Hector Rodas, who has been out since mid December.

Levante have won just once in their last six outings, but have drawn their last three, which helped move them out of the relegation zone.

In the two meetings between these two sides last season, the home side secured the win on both occasions.
