Atletico Madrid concede late as they are held to a 1-1 draw at Mallorca in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid have failed to win their first La Liga match of 2013 as they conceded late in a 1-1 draw at Mallorca.

The best chance of a goalless first half fell for Diego Costa, who saw his effort pushed away by Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Aouate.

Atletico came within inches of taking the lead just before the hour as Raul Garcia's header crashed off the woodwork.

However, the midfielder made no mistake in the 72nd minute when he converted the rebound after Costa's initial shot had been saved.

The visitors looked on course for the three points before substitute Kevin lashed in a powerful drive on the angle with three minutes left to play to bring the sides level.

Giovani dos Santos almost snatched the win for Atletico in injury time, only for his free kick to hit the post.
