Atletico Madrid confirm Nico Gaitan capture from Benfica

Atletico Madrid announce that they have agreed a deal with Benfica for the transfer of Argentine international Nico Gaitan.

Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal to bring Argentine attacker Nico Gaitan to the Vicente Calderon.

The 28-year-old, who has been consistently linked with a move to Manchester United, will officially complete a move from Benfica once he has returned from Copa America duty with his South American country.

Gaitan has scored 41 times in 253 appearances for Benfica, including 11 goals in 37 appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.

No transfer figure has been mentioned on Atletico's official website, but it was previously reported that the Spanish club had agreed a price of £19m for the versatile Argentina international.
