Inter Milan have confirmed that they are interested in signing Atletico Madrid attacker Alessio Cerci.
The Italian international joined Atletico from Torino in the summer, but has struggled to force his way into their XI.
Inter chief executive Marco Fassone has admitted that Cerci 'fits the profile' of the type of player that the club want to sign.
"A club such as ours must be attentive to the market opportunities for players who are out of contract or unhappy at their clubs," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"Cerci's profile certainly conforms to our needs, given he is Italian, knows Serie A and also has quality."
Cerci has not started a single league game for Atletico this season.
