Luciano Vietto scores for Atletico Madrid amid exit talk

Luciano Vietto puts transfer speculation aside to score in Atletico Madrid's 2-0 win over Numancia on Saturday night.

Luciano Vietto was on the scoresheet for Atletico Madrid in their 2-0 win over Numancia on Saturday night.

The Argentine international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon in recent weeks, with Barcelona and Sevilla both believed to hold a firm interest.

Vietto was involved in his team's first pre-season match this summer, however, as he added to Fernando Torres's first-half effort to secure a comfortable win for the capital outfit.

The 22-year-old earned himself a move to Atletico last summer after hitting 20 goals in 48 appearances during an impressive first season in Spanish football with Villarreal.

Vietto only managed three goals for the capital club during the 2015-16 season, however, and it is understood that Atletico are open to a sale this summer.
