Sunday's La Liga predictions including Barcelona vs. Villarreal

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Barcelona vs. Villarreal.

Elche vs. Getafe (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Two teams needing a point to confirm their survival in the Spanish top flight will do battle on the final day on Sunday, as Elche entertain Getafe.

The sides each find themselves three points above the bottom three in the La Liga table, with Granada and Mallorca also between themselves and the drop zone.

We say: Elche 1-1 Getafe

With both sides all but safe, aside from any dramatic swings on the final day, and a point confirming each of their survivals, we would not be surprised to see them settle for a draw.

Unal has the ability to cause the hosts problems, but we see Francisco's men at least forcing a share of the spoils on home turf.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Osasuna vs. Mallorca (Sunday, 7.00pm)

Mallorca simply must win on Sunday to climb out of the relegation zone on the final day of the season, currently sitting 18th and below 17th-placed Cadiz on goal difference in La Liga.

Osasuna welcome Mallorca to the Estadio El Sadar this weekend, with the hosts unable to climb higher than their current ninth-placed position, but they could drop into the bottom half of the table.

We say: Osasuna 1-2 Mallorca

Osasuna's poor form may play a factor in this result, with Mallorca boosted from their win last time out and encouraged that they can secure their top-fight status with a win, granted other results also need to go their way.

The visitors' defensive record is not strong which suggests that Osasuna will get on the scoresheet, but Mallorca will be determined to take maximum points from this fixture.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Granada vs. Espanyol (Sunday, 7.00pm)

Granada are at risk of being relegated on the final day of La Liga, currently sitting 16th and just one point above 18th-placed Mallorca ahead of Sunday's fixtures.

Espanyol visit the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes this weekend, when the visitors can only climb one spot from 13th, while they could finish 15th with defeat against Granada.

We say: Granada 1-0 Espanyol

With top goalscorer Tomas unavailable, Espanyol are likely to struggle in the attacking third even more so than they already have during the season away from home.

Granada still need to pick up points to secure their safety which gives the hosts extra motive, and that is likely to be a key feature in the result on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Alaves vs. Cadiz (Sunday, 7.00pm)

The battle for survival in La Liga goes to the final day on Sunday, with Cadiz one of the teams in danger at the wrong end of the table.

They travel to face Alaves at the Estadio de Mendizorroza, who saw their relegation out of the top flight confirmed last weekend.

We say: Alaves 1-2 Cadiz

The potential outcome of this huge game in La Liga depends significantly on the character of the Alaves side following their confirmed relegation last weekend.

Should the hosts come out with plenty of hunger to finish positively, they could well pick up a result following their excellent home form, but should the visitors outmatch their desire to win, they could well earn the crucial three points required to potentially see them through to safety.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sevilla vs. Athletic Bilbao (Sunday, 9.00pm)

Sevilla currently sit fourth in La Liga and could climb into third place with a win on Sunday, when they welcome Athletic Bilbao to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on the final day of the season.

However, the hosts could also drop out of the Champions League qualification spots, as fifth-placed Real Betis sit three points behind but with equal goal difference, while Bilbao must win to leapfrog Villarreal into the final European position.

We say: Sevilla 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

After multiple draws in a row, Sevilla have fallen into a pattern at the end of the season, which they do not need to get out of to secure fourth spot.

Bilbao are arguably in more need of a win, but being away from home may count against them this weekend, especially considering Sevilla's strong home record.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Real Sociedad vs. Atletico (Sunday, 9.00pm)

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone reacts on April 13, 2022© Reuters

Atletico Madrid will be bidding to secure third spot in the La Liga table when they finish their 2021-22 campaign away to Real Sociedad on Sunday night.

Diego Simeone's side are currently third, one point ahead of fourth-placed Sevilla, while Real Sociedad sit sixth, two points behind fifth-placed Real Betis, although the Basque outfit have already secured a spot in the group stage of the 2022-23 Europa League.

We say: Real Sociedad 1-1 Atletico Madrid

A draw would not be enough for Real Sociedad to finish fifth, although it might be taken out of their hands ahead of this match. The hosts will be determined to end on a win regardless of whether it means they finish ahead of Real Betis, but Atletico, who might need to triumph to secure third, should be good enough for a point on the final weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Barcelona vs. Villarreal (Sunday, 9.00pm)

Barcelona's Sergio Busquets celebrates scoring their second goal with teammates on May 1, 2022© Reuters

Barcelona will be bidding to end their 2021-22 La Liga campaign on a high when they welcome Villarreal to Camp Nou on Sunday night.

The Catalan giants have already secured second position in the table behind Real Madrid, but Villarreal are bidding to hold off competition from Athletic Bilbao to finish seventh in Spain's top flight.

We say: Barcelona 2-1 Villarreal

This is a bigger match for Villarreal than it is for Barcelona, with the visitors looking to finish seventh. Xavi's side will be keen to give their supporters something to cheer at the end of a difficult season, though, and we believe that the home team will have enough quality to secure all three points here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
