Barcelona paid Neymar's parents £34m

Barcelona confirm that Neymar's parents received £34m of the £48.6m transfer fee that they paid to buy the 21-year-old from Santos in the summer.

Barcelona have confirmed that Neymar's parents received £34m as part of his summer move to the Spanish club.

The La Liga champions paid £48.6m to bring the 21-year-old to the Camp Nou, but his former club, Santos, received just £14.6m of the transfer fee.

Sandro Rossell resigned from his role as club president earlier this week over claims that the side actually spent more than the reported fee for the player.

Neymar has scored 11 goals in 26 appearances for Barcelona this season.
