Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones was encouraged by the impact that new signing Rodri made during his debut in last night's 3-2 win over Birmingham City.
The 22-year-old, who moved to Hillsborough on a season-long loan from Barcelona on Monday, fired through goalkeeper Jack Butland's legs to put the Owls 2-0 up on 39 minutes.
"He cramped up at the end, but you can see what he has got," Jones said. "He has got something you are always trying to teach forwards. Your next step must be forward and he always seems to find that space.
"When we get him fitter and he adapts we will see a lot more of him. He has the European glide and arrogance about him. His control and vision - we are expecting big things from the kid. He is only young and we have an option to buy him.
"But it was his first game and if he gets better than what he has shown tonight, then I think everyone will be really pleased."
