Lionel Messi feels that his record of scoring against all 19 other teams successively in La Liga in not an important stat.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has said that his record of scoring against every team in La Liga this season in not important.

The four-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner netted in Barca's 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo on Saturday, meaning that he had scored against all the 19 other teams in the Spanish league in succession.

However, Messi feels that the record is not significant and laments the result against the struggling Celta.

"The least important thing is the streak," Messi told reporters after the game.

"I was fortunate to score in all those games and help the team to keep on track. But that's not important.

"We wanted to win after the effort of the squad that were selected but we could not."

Despite the draw, the Catalan giants are still top of La Liga by 13 points.
