Neymar says that it will be a "great honour" to play alongside the likes of Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Neymar has insisted that it will be a "great honour" to play alongside some of the world's best players after joining Barcelona on Sunday.

The long-time Barca target completed a transfer to the Camp Nou at the weekend, penning a five-year contract with the club.

The 21-year-old, who played his final game for Santos in a 0-0 draw with Flamengo on Sunday, revealed his excitement at rubbing shoulders with the big names at the La Liga champions.

"To play with [Lionel] Messi, Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta is a great honour," Neymar told ESPN. "It's a dream to be going to Barca. I leave Santos through the front door. I hope to return to my second home [in future], which is Santos.

"I feel fantastic, very happy and grateful to Santos and I'm already thinking about Barca."

Neymar has scored 12 times in 18 appearances for Santos this season.
