Xavi believes that the additions of Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez has made Barcelona "even stronger" this season.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi has claimed that the Spanish and European champions are "an amazing team".

The 31-year-old also believes that the summer additions of Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez have made the squad even more formidable for the season ahead.

"The truth is that we have an amazing team and this year it is even stronger," Xavi was quoted as saying on UEFA's official website.

"There are many players in the market but few that could have improved what Barcelona already have. Cesc and Alexis have improved the team, and so they have been welcomed. They will adapt easily because of their character, fitness, and the great teammates around them.

"I am sure they will be playing very soon and they will adapt perfectly and show the class that they have shown in their teams."

Barca begin the defence of the Champions League crown with a home fixture against AC Milan this evening.
