Result: Real Sociedad 2-2 Barcelona

Barcelona squander a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Real Sociedad.

Barcelona squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Real Sociedad.

The Catalan side were ahead after 10 minutes when Xavi volleyed in from close range, following good work form Alexis Sanchez.

Barca, who started without Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi, doubled their advantage instantly when Cesc Fabregas fired in the rebound after Pedro's shot was saved.

The hosts were more dominant in the second half and they were rewarded for their efforts on the hour when Imanol Agirretxe headed home Xabi Prieto's cross.

Sociedad drew level soon after when Agirretxe pounced on David Villa's weak back pass only to see his shot bounced off the crossbar, but Antoine Griezmann was on hand to convert the rebound.
