How Barcelona could line up against Inter Milan

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up for Wednesday night's Champions League showdown with in-form Inter Milan at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona welcome in-form Italian giants Inter Milan to the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening looking for their first Champions League win of the season.

Ernesto Valverde's side were somewhat fortunate to come away from their Group F opener with a goalless draw at Borussia Dortmund on matchday one but know that any dropped points at home could prove costly in a difficult group.

Inter should pose a serious threat to the hosts having begun the Serie A season with six wins from six, although they were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Slavia Prague in their opening Champions League game.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how La Blaugrana could line up for the contest.

Possible BAR XI vs. INT

Out: Ansu Fati (knee), Samuel Umtiti (foot)
Doubtful: Lionel Messi (adductor), Ousmane Dembele (hamstring), Jordi Alba (hamstring)

Lionel Messi's injury-hit start to the season has seen him suffer an adductor problem which kept him out at the weekend, although the talismanic number 10 returned to training on Monday and could be in contention to feature in some capacity on Wednesday night.

Ousmane Dembele was also absent against Getafe after picking up another hamstring injury, but he too made a quick return to training this week and his latest absence could only be a short one.

Any return for the Frenchman would be a timely one with teenage sensation Ansu Fati sidelined by a knee injury and, while a return date has not yet been set for the winger, it is unlikely that he will be ready for this match.

Samuel Umtiti is Barcelona's only other guaranteed absentee, although the match could still come too soon for Jordi Alba.

Valverde could therefore only make limited changes to the team which beat Getafe last time out, with Nelson Semedo one of those hoping for a recall.
