Barcelona bring forward their agreement to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from July 1 to January 31, ensuring that they will have him for the remainder of the season.

Barcelona have brought forward their agreement to sign Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo with immediate effect.

The Spanish champions had signed a pre-contract agreement with Todibo earlier this month that was due to see the 19-year-old link up with the club on July 1.

However, they have now brought that deal forward on deadline day to ensure that Todibo will be a Barcelona player for the rest of the season.

The Frenchman has penned fresh terms on a four-and-a-half-year contract at Camp Nou, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Todibo, who will be officially unveiled to fans on Friday, will wear the number six shirt recently vacated by Denis Suarez following his deadline-day move to Arsenal.

The youngster is able to play at centre-back or in central midfield and had been linked with Liverpool, Juventus and Napoli prior to his move to Barca.
