Josep Maria Bartomeu, who is bidding to be re-elected as Barcelona president, has revealed that coach Luis Enrique is keen to secure the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan.
Turan has been heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona in recent days, and Bartomeu believes that the Catalan giants should press on with their attempts to sign the Turkish international.
Bartomeu is quoted by AS as saying: "Luis Enrique has asked for him. The priorities for the coach were Aleix Vidal and Arda.
"The board needs to sign a player like him - they have to. They must sign Arda and incorporate him as soon as possible so that he can start the pre-season."
Turan has scored 20 goals in 163 appearances for Atletico.
