Barcelona are reportedly determined that they will not part with Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic before the European transfer window closes later today.

Barcelona have reportedly decided that they will not part with Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic before the transfer window closes.

The 31-year-old has been linked with Juventus in recent days and was believed to have been offered to Paris Saint-Germain as a potential makeweight in a deal for Brazilian forward Neymar.

Rumours of the former Schalke midfielder's stint at the Camp Nou coming to an end were exacerbated when he withdrew from the Croatian squad for their upcoming internationals with Slovakia and Azerbaijan to sort out his club future.

However, Marca now reports that Barcelona intend to keep Rakitic, whose contract with Ernesto Valverde's sides runs until 2021, for the foreseeable future.

The former Sevilla star has made just one substitute appearance for the Catalan giants this season after featuring more than 54 times in their previous campaign.
