Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has reportedly asked the Ligue 1 champions to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
Last week, Mbappe signed a new contract at the Parc des Princes, which includes the right to have a say off the pitch, and in particular on the incoming signings to the French capital.
De Jong featured 46 times for Barca this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists across all competitions, but PSG are not the only club showing interest in his services, with Manchester United also believed to be keen.
According to Fichajes, Xavi's side are willing to sell the Dutch international as the Catalan giants look to raise funds for signings of their own this summer, and De Jong is valued highly with a long-term contract running until 2026 at Camp Nou.
The 25-year-old is believed to want to play alongside Mbappe, and therefore may look more favourably towards a move to PSG, rather than Man United, who also cannot offer the midfielder Champions League football next season.
Since arriving at Camp Nou in 2019, De Jong has gone on to score 13 goals and provide 17 assists in 139 appearances for Barca.
