Report: Barcelona able to sign new players this summer

A report claims that Barcelona can sign new players this summer, despite officially being banned from operating in the transfer market until January 2016.

Barcelona are reportedly allowed to sign new players this summer despite their current transfer ban.

The Catalan outfit were hit with a two-window ban last year after being found to have breached rules in relation to signing youth players.

Barca took their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but that was dismissed and it was believed that the Spanish side could not sign any new players until January 2016.

However, according to Sky Sports News, FIFA have revealed that Barca can make signings this summer, as long as they are not officially registered before next January.

As a result, Barca can agree terms with clubs and players this year, but will be unable to field any potential new signings until the winter window opens in 2016.
