Report: Barcelona lead Ezequiel Lavezzi race

A report claims that Barcelona could sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi in January for as little as £3.5m, with the Argentine out of contract this summer.

Barcelona are reportedly at the head of the queue for unsettled Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argentine joined PSG from Napoli in 2012 and has scored 34 times in 154 appearances for the French champions.

The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, however, and is widely expected to depart the French capital in the January transfer window.

According to Sport, Barcelona are ahead of Juventus and Inter Milan in the race and could sign the attacker for as little as £3.5m at the start of 2016.

It is understood that Lavezzi is prepared to act as back-up to the first-choice attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar at Camp Nou.
