Report: Barcelona considering January move for Robin van Persie

Reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona may be considering a move to sign Netherlands international striker Robin van Persie.

Barcelona may be considering a January move to sign Netherlands international striker Robin van Persie, according to reports in Spain.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal frontman joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer, but has only played one full match having been placed on the bench for the majority of his spell in Istanbul.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo now suggests that Barca are interested in signing the former Premier League Golden Boot winner, claiming that club technical secretary Robert Fernandez was watching Van Persie in action for the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

La Liga giants Barca were previously linked with a move for Van Persie during Gerard Martino's reign as manager.
