Steve Bruce believes that Hull City must show some resilience if they are to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Steve Bruce has claimed that he is confident that his Hull City side can secure promotion to the Premier League despite a 2-0 defeat to Barnsley.

Hull remain one point ahead of third-place Watford with one game left and Bruce admitted that his side did not deserve to claim the win that would have seen them return to the top tier of English football on Saturday.

The former Sunderland manager said: "We didn't deserve anything from the game but we were beaten by the better team.

"I am confident we can perform, we have to show some resilience. We certainly have made hard work of it."

Hull host champions Cardiff City on the final day of the season.
